A dog described as a German Shepherd was shot and killed by police. The dog was running loose, worrying sheep, and menacing people.

Police claim they "came under attack". So obviously they shot and killed the dog.

November 2010: UK Officers Kill Aggressive Dog

A woman was walking a friend's American Bulldog when at some point, the dog began attacking her, causing significant wounds. While paramedics stabilized the woman, the dog was let loose, dragging his leash in a busy area. Officers arrived and tasered him, and he died en route to a shelter where he was going to be "put down".

Five dogs described as looking like Staffordshire Bull Terriers were running loose when at least one nipped a 17-yr-old child. Panic ensued and police were called. Two of the dogs were shot dead, the other three were rounded up by rangers.

Hartlepool police call vet to euthanize dangerous dog

A man was left with significant injuries after his dog mauled his arms. Police were called and found the dog to be highly aggressive. They were given consent by the owner to euthanize the dog. The dog was cornered in a backyard and, who knows how, but a vet was called out and euthanized the dog via euthanol/euthanasia solution.

UK police shoot and kill dog

 A dog owner was playing with his dog at the beach. At some point, the dog became agitated and began attacking a teenage male. When the owner and another passerby tried to stop the dog, the dog began bit them as well (though not as severely as the teenager). Police were called and when they were unable to subdue the dog, they shot him several times, killing him.

St. Paul SWAT drug raid and across the pond

A SWAT team in St. Paul shot and killed three dogs during a drug raid. They knew the dogs were present. The fourth dog was confined and left unharmed.

A sad story out of England where two dogs were killed by police while defending their master's body. Their owner had died of natural causes. When paramedics arrived, the dogs were obviously agitated and felt threatened so they stood guard over their owner's body.. One dog was shot and killed instantly, the other ran away. When he was cornered, the dog was tasered and taken to a shelter. Shelter employees claim he was "too aggressive" and he was subsequently euthanized...even though the owner had a partner who would have taken the dog back.
